Laligurans and Premier win the Intercollegiate Basketball Tournament title
KATHMANDU:- Laligurans and Premier secured victories in the SRC Plus-2 Inter-College Boys’ Basketball Tournament on Wednesday.
At the covered hall in Kirtipur, Laligurans defeated Omega 66–40. Suresh BC contributed 19 points to Laligurans’ victory.
After taking a 21–11 lead in the first quarter, Laligurans trailed 15–16 in the second. However, they widened the winning margin by outscoring their opponents 14–8 in the third quarter and 16–5 in the fourth.
Premier defeated GoldenGate ‘B’ 56–38, bolstered by 33 points from Ashwin Chalise. Leading in all four quarters, Premier recorded scores of 15–8, 17–14, 8–7, and 16–9, respectively.
In other matches of the tournament—sponsored by AECC Global Consultants and organized by Pulchokians Fitness Hub—CCRC and Manaslu emerged victorious.
CCRC defeated GoldenGate ‘A’ by a narrow margin of 64–60. CCRC’s Bisan Khadka scored 29 points.
After trailing 20–23 in the first quarter, CCRC bounced back by taking a 22–13 lead in the second. CCRC extended its lead in the third quarter by outscoring the opponent 17–5. Although GoldenGate ‘A’ won the fourth quarter 19–5, it was not enough to secure the victory.
Manaslu secured a comfortable 102–68 victory over KVC. Pradin Bohara scored 20 points for Manaslu. Although Manaslu led 21–13 in the first quarter, they trailed 17–26 in the second; however, by dominating the remaining two quarters with scores of 30–15 and 34–14 respectively, they clinched an easy win.
