After Deepak Raj’s comments, Kedar showed proof that the audience liked the film ‘Magne Raja’

KATHMANDU:- Following the commercial failure of the film ‘Chha Maya Chhapakkai 2’—produced by the team of Deepak Raj Giri and Deepashree Niraula and released during this year’s Dashain—many have attributed its poor performance to the absence of Kedar Ghimire, popularly known as ‘Magne Budha’. However, in an interview on Thursday, Deepak Raj flatly rejected this claim. Instead, he suggested that the film did not succeed because it lacked sufficient humor.

He said, “I do not believe the film failed because Kedar Ghimire was not in it; it failed because there was a lack of comedy. If a film were guaranteed to be a hit simply by featuring ‘Magne Budha,’ then all of his films would have been super-duper hits. A single person cannot make a film a hit. However, in *Chha Maya Chhapakkai 2*, the audience looked for ‘Magne Budha’ in that character—simply because ‘Magne Budha’ had appeared in the preceding installment.”

After Deepak Raj asserted that not all of ‘Magne Budha’s’ films have been successful, Kedar took to Facebook on Friday to present evidence that his latest film, ‘Magne Raja,’ was a hit. He claims that the film grossed 47.6 million rupees at the box office alone. He further stated that the earnings from YouTube and overseas rights are in a similar range.

He stated, “I informed everyone that the film, which was released on Bhadra 6, could only run for a total of 16 days, as screenings were disrupted by the protests on Bhadra 23 and 24.” The fact that Kedar released evidence proving the success of ‘Magne Raja’ immediately following Deepakraj’s remarks is a clear indication that a rift has developed in their relationship.
