Nepali student Kaushal Kumar Thakur’s body found in suspicious circumstances in London

LONDON:-  Kaushal Kumar Thakur, a 22-year-old Nepali student living in Harrow, London, was found dead under suspicious circumstances in his own room. Thakur, a resident of Mahottari (Pipra-07, Banauli), was in his final year studying cyber security at the University of East London. According to his family, Kaushal had been suffering from serious mental health problems for some time and it is suspected that he committed suicide due to the same.

The unthinkable death of Kaushal, who was found dead on Thursday, June 18, has shocked the Nepali community in the UK. According to Aditya Kumar Thakur, the deceased’s brother, the family is now in a great mental state and is also in financial crisis. Aditya said that it would be expensive to complete the necessary legal procedures in the UK and send the body to Nepal, and the family is unable to afford it.

A GoFundMe page has been set up to help the Thakur family. Aditya made an emotional appeal, saying, “Our brother had a bright future ahead of him, but circumstances took him away from us. Our only wish now is to return his body to Nepal and give him a dignified farewell in his homeland. Please help us in this difficult time.”

The repeated incidents in the UK have raised questions about the mental health of students studying here and the challenges they face. Police are said to be investigating the incident further.
