Landslide, flood obstruct different road sections across country

KATHMANDU:- Vehicular movement has been obstructed at major highways and road sections in different districts of the country due to incessant rainfall, landslide and flood.

Releasing the details as of 8:40 am today, the Nepal Police shared that some road sections have been completely blocked and operation of vehicular movement has been prohibited in some road sections during night.

Considering the risk of possible flood, operation of all vehicles has been closed along Khurkot-Nepalthok-Katunje road section from 6:00 pm to 4:00 am every day while vehicular movement has been stopped along Kanti highway from 5:00 pm to 5:00 am every day.

Mechi highway has been completely blocked at Ilam municipality-9 after road became muddy following rainfall.

Similarly, vehicular movement has come to a complete standstill due to landslide occurred at Zerokilo and Kodari area at Bhotekoshi rural municipality along Araniko highway as well as the swollen Samakoshi rivulet encroaching the road along Lamasanghu-Ramechhap section at Tamakoshi rural municipality-5 in Dolakha, causing the road obstruction.

Likewise, Pasang Lhamu road section has also been obstructed at Uttargaya rural municipality-5 in Rasuwa after Trishuli river flooded the road.

A dry landslide occurred at Bagmati rural municipality-3 along Kanti highway has completely disrupted the vehicular movement as well as vehicular movement has come to a complete standstill due to dry landslide occurred at Paribartan rural municipality-1 of Rolpa along Ghorahi-Thawang martyr highway this morning.

Besisahar-Chame-Manang road at Marsyangdi rural municipality-4 in Lamjung has also been blocked due to landslide.

Nepal Police has requested everyone to enquire the bodies concerned about road condition and adopt necessary precautions before travelling.
