According to a statement issued by the DHS, a joint team comprising U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) and the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration—working alongside highway patrols during the three-day “Operation Highway Shield” (July 28–30)—announced the initiation of proceedings to revoke the licenses of more than 800 immigrant truck drivers following inspections.

In a three-day operation dubbed “Highway Shield,” federal agents arrested 51 undocumented immigrants—including 21 commercial drivers holding licenses issued by California and New York—and initiated proceedings to revoke the licenses of 766 unsafe drivers and vehicles.

Additionally, the licenses of 36 drivers were revoked for failing English language proficiency tests, and 86 operators were arrested on charges of domestic violence.
