Nepal playing its first match against NT Strike in Top End T20 Series
KATHMANDU:-The Nepal ‘A’ men’s national cricket team is playing its first match in Australia’s Top End T20 Series today. Nepal is set to face the host team, Northern Territory Strike, in this opening match.
The match will begin at 2:15 PM today at the Marrara Cricket Ground in Darwin. This marks Nepal’s second appearance in the Top End T20 Series; the senior national team participated in the previous edition, where they won only two of their six league-stage matches and lost four.
This time, the Nepal ‘A’ team aims to advance to the next round by delivering an outstanding performance. For this reason, the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has sent some key players from the senior team to Australia.
The CAN-selected ‘A’ team includes players who have frequently represented the senior squad, such as Kushal Bhurtel, Lokesh Bam, Kushal Malla, and Gulsan Kumar Jha. Most of these players also participated in the previous edition of the Top End T20 Series.
This marks the second time Nepal is set to play against NT Strike. In the match played last season, Nepal was defeated by NT Strike by 42 runs. This time, Nepal ‘A’ has the opportunity to improve upon that performance.
