Parajuli couple from Mandandeupur disappeared after jumping into Sunkoshi River

BANEPA:- An elderly couple from Mandandeupur Municipality-7, Kavrepalanchok, has gone missing after jumping into the Sunkoshi River.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Rabin Bista of the District Police Office, Kavrepalanchok, 68-year-old Kedarnath Parajuli and his 67-year-old wife, Tilkumari Parajuli, went missing after jumping into the river.

Police reported that the Parajuli couple jumped into the river near the Dulaleshwor Mahadev Temple in Dolalghat, Bhumlu Rural Municipality-8, around 6:30 PM on Wednesday. Preliminary speculation suggests that the couple may have taken this step because Parajuli’s wife, Tilkumari, was physically incapacitated due to bone marrow cancer.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Bista stated that although a police team led by Inspector Manraj Baniya—chief of the Panchkhal Police Post—was deployed immediately after the incident to search for the missing couple, they could not be located by evening. Police also reported that a team from the Armed Police Force has been mobilized to assist in the search.
