Conservative author Ross Douthat named CBS’s ’60 Minutes’ correspondent

LOS ANGELES:- Conservative writer Ross Douthat has been appointed as a full-time correspondent for the CBS program ’60 Minutes’.
Prior to this, Cecilia Vega worked as a full-time correspondent for the CBS television program ’60 Minutes’.
Prior to Ross Douthat’s appointment, the removal of Cecilia Vega from ’60 Minutes’ without explanation had been a subject of public discussion.
The appointment of Ross Douthat marks the first move following CBS News leadership’s dismissal of popular anchors and correspondents whose views did not align with theirs.
Ross Douthat’s appointment was formally announced on Tuesday.
Experienced figures such as Scott Pelley, Sharyn Alfonsi, Cecilia Vega, and executive producer Tanya Simon had been dismissed by CBS News Editor-in-Chief Bari Weiss.
Ross Douthat had been hosting a video podcast titled ‘Interesting Times’ for “The New York Times” opinion section, discussing religion and politics.

Vice, appointed as the executive producer for CBS News’ “60 Minutes,” has also recruited three contributors to her team for the program.
