KATHMANDU:- The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has made a nine-point call of action, including conducting autopsy of those who died during the ‘Gen-Z” movement.
In a press statement issued today by NHRC spokesperson, Dr. Tikaram Pokharel, the Commission has called for special attention to proper post-mortem of those who died during the movement, cremation and relief to the victims’ families.
“It is necessary to move forward with the participation of all concerned sides, keeping the country, the people, democracy, human rights and the rule of law at the centre,” the statement said, adding that “everyone should move forward with patience.”
The NHRC has also urges the public to respect the rights of others, communicate with decency and, not incite conflict and violence, and to put forward their demands politely in accordance with democratic norms and procedures. It has emphasized the need to facilitate the movement of daily consumable goods and services in a smooth manner.
“Emphasis should be on physical reconstruction and service delivery by collecting details of the damage caused by arson and vandalism during the demonstrations,” the statement said, adding that “all organizations and civil society should fulfill their responsibility accordingly. (RSS)
