Sainamaina receives highest rainfall in last 24 hours in Nepal
KATHMANDU:- The highest rainfall was measured in Sainamaina, Rupandehi over the last 24 hours till 11:00 am today, the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology said.
According to the department, 153.2 millimeters of rain was recorded in that area. Meteorologist Binu Maharjan from the department also stated that in the last 24 hours, there has been heavy to very heavy rainfall in some parts of Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces.
During that period, there was relatively little rain in the Madhesh Province.
Meteorologist Maharjan said there hasn’t been heavy rain in any part of the country in the last six hours. Recently, most places have experienced light to moderate rain. The department reported that 24 millimeters of rain were recorded in the western Tarai of Lumbini Province.
According to the department, there is a possibility of heavy rain at night in some hilly and Tarai region of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces, so people have been urged to take precaution in places at risk of floods, landslides, inundation, and debris flow.
