Tight security in four districts of restive Terai, curfew order issued
KATHMANDU:- In view of the recent security situation, the local administration has issued curfew orders for various affected areas across four districts in the Terai region.
According to the local administration, the curfew has been imposed in designated areas of Sunsari, Siraha, Dhanusha, and Parsa districts, prohibiting movement, gatherings, and demonstrations.
Sunsari: A curfew order has been issued for all 10 local levels of the district, effective from Tuesday night.
Siraha (Golbazar area): A curfew order has been issued—effective from 2:00 PM until further notice—covering the area along the East-West Highway from Kasaha Khola (Golbazar Municipality-3) westward to Choharwa Chowk, and extending from Sainik Chowk (Ward No. 6) in the north to the area surrounding the campus in Ward No. 4 in the south.
Siraha (Lahan area): A curfew has been imposed—effective from 4:00 PM until further notice—covering the area extending from the East-West Highway eastwards to the Balan River, westwards to the Saraswati River (west of Batika Hotel), northwards to the Khutti River, and southwards up to a distance of 500 meters from the East-West Highway.
Dhanusha: A curfew order has been issued—effective from 3:30 PM—covering all wards of Janakpur Sub-Metropolitan City, as well as the areas of Lakshminiya Rural Municipality and Nagarain Municipality.
Parsa: A curfew order has been issued for the area within Birgunj Metropolitan City—extending from Pratima Chowk–Bus Park Bypass Road in the east, Tilave Bridge in the west, and Gandak Chowk in the north to Shankaracharya Gate in the south—effective from 5:00 PM on Thursday until 6:00 AM on Friday.
The local administration has urged all citizens to fully comply with the curfew order and exercise restraint in order to maintain peace and security.
