Saurabh Chaudhary announces production of ‘The Rise of Samrajya’

KATHMANDU:- Saurav Chaudhary, who demonstrated great promise in action filmmaking with *Agastya*, has announced the production of his new film, ‘The Rise of Samrajya’.
He shared details about the project on Monday while unveiling its theme poster. Filming is scheduled to begin this coming Bhadra in the Koshi Barrage area of eastern Nepal, and the movie is set to be produced on an exceptionally grand scale.
The film’s theme poster depicts people on horseback amidst flames. A red flag fluttering in the upper-left section of the poster signifies revolution or rebellion. Meanwhile, figures performing a *Ramlila* play on a stage in the background suggest that the film’s story is set in a specific historical era.
Produced by Dark Horse Entertainment, the film features Pravesh Chaudhary and Nila Dev as producers. Bishwas Basnet (Ben) serves as the co-producer, while Shankar Pandey is the executive producer. The screenplay has been written by Buddhisagar, the author of novels such as *Karnali Blues* and *Phirphire*. With cinematography by Mankrishna Maharjan, the film will be shot over a period of 70 days, conducted in two phases.
Co-producer Basnet stated that ‘The Rise of Samrajya’ would be a large-scale ‘epic action drama’ for the Nepali film industry. He said, “In terms of its lineup and production, this will be the biggest-scale film the Nepali industry has seen so far. Its storyline is also truly unique.” According to him, the names of the lead actors will be revealed starting next week.
