Possibility of heavy rain across the country on Monday

KATHMANDU:- The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has stated that the weather across the country will remain generally to completely cloudy today.

According to the Department, there is a possibility of moderate to heavy rainfall in some areas of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Karnali, Lumbini, and Sudurpaschim provinces.

Heavy rainfall is forecast for one or two locations in the mountainous and hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki; the hilly areas of Karnali; and the hilly and Terai regions of Lumbini and Sudurpaschim.

Rain accompanied by thunder and lightning is likely in many places across the country’s hilly regions. The department has stated that snowfall may occur alongside rainfall in the mountainous areas.

Moderate rain with thunder is expected in many locations, particularly in the Terai regions of Lumbini and Sudurpaschim provinces, and in some places within the Terai regions of Bagmati and Gandaki provinces.

Generally cloudy conditions will prevail across the country at night as well. There is a possibility of heavy rain in one or two places within the hilly and Terai regions of Koshi Province.

According to meteorological standards, rainfall of 50 to 100 millimeters within 24 hours is considered heavy rain; 100 to 200 millimeters is classified as very heavy rain, and rainfall exceeding 200 millimeters is termed extremely heavy rain.
