People from Tinkar, Chhangru villages to vote at low-lying areas

DARCHULA:- The voters from Tinkar and Chhangru areas of Darchula district would be provided arrangement to cast votes at Tinkerkheda, a low lying place in the district, so that they would not face chilling weather.

Chief of Election Office, Pradip Dhami, shared that the voting centres and polling stations for the people of these two areas would be managed at Tinkarkhed, where the voters have been moved to escape the chilling cold.

“The Tinkar and Chhangru people move to low-lying areas during winter and return to their homes in May.

So arrangement of voting centres and polling stations is being made at the place of their convenience,” he added.

Mautimaila Sangh Basic School has been fixed as the voting centre for the voters of Tinkar village while Kailashpati Basic School for voters of Chhangru villagers.

Dhami stated that the Election Commission gave consent to make such arrangement at their request by taking into account the adverse weather.

Chhangru village has 375 voters, while Tinkar 244 voters.

Darchula has only one constituency where there are 92,948 voters.

A total of 11 candidates are in fray in the district for the election to the House of Representatives scheduled for March 5. RSS
