Nepali baseball team to visit Japan to participate in World Children’s Baseball Fair
KATHMANDU:- A six-member Nepali team, including five players, is set to travel to Narita, Japan, on Wednesday to participate in the 32nd World Children’s Baseball Fair.
Abhinaya Shrestha, Sankalpa Paudel, UL Rokka, Bhumika Khadka, and Khushi Shrestha will participate in the fair, which is organized by the World Children’s Baseball Foundation and runs from July 30 to August 7. Bipin Bajracharya is the coach. Fourteen nations, including Nepal, will participate in the event.
During the fair, participants will have the opportunity to attend a clinic and watch a Nippon Professional Baseball game. Players will also compete in friendly matches alongside players from various other nations.
Deepak Neupane, President of the Nepal Baseball and Softball Association, stated that the foundation is sponsoring all expenses for the participants. According to him, each participant will also receive sports equipment and uniforms worth approximately 100,000 rupees.
Ramcharitra Mehta, Member-Secretary of the National Sports Council, and Raju Singh, Advisor to the Ministry of Youth and Sports, bade farewell to the team at a program on Monday, wishing them success.
