Lamjung section of Mid-Hill Highway closed due to flooding
LAMJUNG:- The Mid-Hill Highway has been obstructed in the Lamjung section after floods and landslides washed away parts of the road.
The road is blocked after a flood in the Pisti Khola (stream) at Madhyanepal Municipality-6, Lamjung, washed away the roadway. Similarly, a landslide at Bimire Bhanjyang in Madhyanepal Municipality-10 has both washed away and buried the road.
A landslide has also damaged the road at Gaulitar, Dhamilikuwa in Rainas Municipality-6. Police have reported that the Mid-Hill Highway is obstructed at various locations due to both floods and landslides.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Jitendra Kumar Basnet, Chief of the Lamjung District Police Office, stated that efforts to clear the road are underway; however, as the process will take time, he urged the public to use alternative routes for the time being.
Suraj Gurung, a media person based in Bhorletar, Madhyanepal, suggested using an alternative route to travel to and from the district headquarters, Besisahar—passing through Ranipani, Kaure, Bangre, and the Thansingdanda Chautara in Bhorletar.
