If I don’t get security within the country, I will go abroad : Ex PM Nepal

KATHMANDU:- Former Prime Minister and Nepal Communist Party Coordinator Madhav Kumar Nepal has expressed strong dissatisfaction over the government’s failure to provide him with security. He has publicly stated that he would consider moving abroad if he cannot secure safety within the country.

In an interview with journalist Binod Dhungel, Nepal complained of being discriminated against compared to other former prime ministers. He pointed out that while other former prime ministers have received vehicles from the government, he has not.

Regarding the issue of security, he made his stance clear: “If the government provides it, I will accept it, but I will not go and ask for it.” He stated, “If the law mandates it, then providing it is your [the government’s] responsibility. Am I supposed to go and say, ‘I need security’? If I don’t get security within the country, I will go abroad.”

Speaking to the media, Nepal said, “If Kathmandu cannot provide security, I will go to Rautahat. If Rautahat cannot provide it, I will look for a place elsewhere in the country. If no forest in the country is safe either, I will go abroad. What else is there to do? Should I go begging to the government? Isn’t it the government’s job?”
