Himalaya Jet to soon launch air services connecting Nepal with Europe and Australia
The long-awaited Himalaya Jet project has now reached the final preparatory stage after facing political and regulatory challenges in Nepal for nearly three years. The company stated that it has completed the initial preparations to realize its long-term goal of connecting Nepal with the UK, Europe, and Australia through direct air services.
LONDON:- Himalaya Jet, which is moving forward with the aim of connecting Nepal to the UK, Europe, and Australia via direct long-haul air services, has announced that its preparations have reached the final stage.
In the first phase, the company has opened job vacancies, inviting applications for various positions related to customer service and operations.
According to the company, the long-awaited Himalaya Jet project has now reached the final preparatory stage after facing political and regulatory challenges in Nepal for nearly three years. The company stated that it has completed the initial preparations to realize its long-term goal of connecting Nepal with the UK, Europe, and Australia through direct air services.
Himalaya Jet has noted that, despite being home to eight of the world’s highest peaks and a major tourist destination, Nepal has lacked direct long-haul air services for over 35 years, thereby depriving international tourists and non-resident Nepalis of convenient air access. The company expresses confidence that its project will put an end to this situation and elevate Nepal’s tourism, trade, and international connectivity to new heights.
According to the company, this achievement is the result of generations of dedication, persistent hard work, and unwavering commitment. Arrangements for initial flight operations have been made through the support of leading global aviation experts and consultants, coordination with international civil aviation bodies and policymakers, and partnerships with internationally recognized air operators from the UK, Europe, and Australia.
Himalaya Jet plans to operate services through partner airlines until it obtains its own Air Operator Certificate (AOC). The company states that, following this, it intends to operate fully regular flights under its own AOC, anticipating that Nepal will be removed from the European Union’s air safety list by then. The company has announced that it will disclose detailed information regarding the project at its first international press conference, to be held in London in the near future.
Meanwhile, Himalaya Jet has opened applications for the first phase of recruitment for positions including Passenger Service Officer, Customer Service Executive, Airport Operations Assistant, Reservation and Ticketing Officer, Contact Center (Call Center) Advisor, Ground Operations Associate, Administration and Office Assistant, Finance and Accounting Assistant, Human Resources Officer, Marketing and Sales Executive, IT Support Officer, and Operations Coordinator.
The company has stated that arrangements for experienced pilots and cabin crew have been made through partner airlines, while ground handling services in the UK, Europe, and Australia will be managed by qualified ground service providers.
Applications are open to Nepali youth residing in Nepal, the UK, Europe, and Australia, as well as foreign nationals who are fluent in Nepali. Interested candidates may submit their CVs to careers@himalayajet.com. The deadline for applications is July 30, 2026.
