Five people arrested on suspicion of involvement in caste riots in Kaptanganj

SUNSARI:- Five individuals were arrested on Shrawan 23 on suspicion of involvement in a violent incident at Kaptanganj in Dewanganj Rural Municipality-3, Sunsari.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Chandra Bahadur Khadka of the District Police Office, Sunsari, the five individuals were arrested on Saturday due to suspected involvement in the incident.

Authorities have reported the arrest of four individuals while they were attempting to cross the Nepal-India border and one person who was hiding in the border area; they are suspected of involvement in incidents ranging from the ‘DJ incident’ to a shooting, as well as acts of vandalism that followed.

Further investigation into the incidents and official confirmation regarding the extent of the arrested individuals’ involvement are still pending. Additional details are awaited.
