Nepali Army rescues people stranded after Budhi Gandaki flood

GORKHA:- Nine people trapped at Nyakphedi of Chumnubri Rural Municipality-3 after the flooding in Budhi Gandaki River have been rescued by helicopter.

Assistant chief district officer of Gorkha, Netra Prasad Sharma, shared that they were rescued and airlifted to Nyakgaun.

Eighteen people- a foreign tourist, locals and workers- were trapped in a hydropower project of Dharche Rural Municipality-1.

They were rescued and airlifted to Hulchuk village. Four choppers of the Nepali Army have been mobilized at the flood-hit Chumnubri, Dharche and Arughat of Gorkha.

Around 50 houses from Salleri, Ghattekhola, Painyu, Dhivan and Bagar as well as around 25 houses of Machhikhola, Yarubagar and Dovan of Dharche Rural Municipality suffered damages in the flooding.

Likewise, the flood also damaged around 15 houses located at Soti of Arughat Rural Municipality. Total 15 people went missing due to flood, assistant CDO Sharma added. RSS
