Possibility of moderate rain accompanied by lightning in some places of hilly regions on Thursday
KATHMANDU:- The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has stated that the country is currently under the influence of monsoon winds. The monsoon trough is currently positioned near its normal location over the eastern parts of Nepal, while it lies to the north of the normal position over the western parts.
Under its influence, the weather is generally cloudy in Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces, while Madhesh Province is partly cloudy. Light to moderate rain is occurring in some places across Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Karnali provinces, as well as in one or two locations in Sudurpaschim Province.
Generally cloudy conditions will prevail across the country this afternoon. There is a possibility of light to moderate rain in a few places within the country’s mountainous regions. Moderate rain accompanied by lightning is likely in some places across the hilly regions. Similarly, moderate rain with lightning is expected in some parts of the Terai in Koshi and Sudurpaschim provinces, as well as in Madhesh Province and a few Terai locations within Bagmati, Lumbini, and Gandaki provinces. Heavy rain is likely in one or two places across the mountainous and hilly regions of Koshi and Bagmati provinces, as well as the hilly regions of Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces.

Moderate rain accompanied by lightning is likely in some areas of the Terai in Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Sudurpaschim provinces, as well as in a few Terai locations within Madhesh and Lumbini provinces.
The Department has stated that heavy rain is likely in one or two places across the hilly and Terai regions of Koshi Province, as well as in the hilly areas of Bagmati and Gandaki provinces.
