Parliamentary hearing committee endorses Karki as CEC

KATHMANDU:- The parliamentary hearing committee has unanimously endorsed Man Bahadur Karki as a chief election commissioner (CEC) while Guru Wagle and Dr Rajiv Subba as the election commissioners. 

The committee meeting held in Singh Durbar endorsed the officials to the Election Commission today, according to Bodh Narayan Shrestha, president of the committee. The persons endorsed by the parliamentary committee following the hearing will be appointed by the President.

Earlier, on July 13, the Constitutional Council had recommended Karki as the Chief Election Commissioner and Wagle and Dr Subba as the election commissioners.
