Congress leader Angdembe calls for government to put concrete efforts to return encroached land

KATHMANDU:- Nepali Congress parliamentary party leader Bhishma Raj Angdembe demanded the government’s clear opinion regarding the issue of returning Nepali territory, Kalapani, Lipulek, and Limpiyadhura.

After Minister for Foreign Affairs Shishir Khanal today clarified the view that Prime Minister Balendra Shah had expressed during the question-and-answer session in the parliament on May 31 last year, leader Angdembe emphasised the need to exert diplomatic efforts to reclaim Nepal’s encroached territories.

It may be noted that Minister Khanal furnished clarifications about the Prime Minister’s earlier remarks in today’s meeting of the House of Representatives (HoR).

The opposition would lend support to the government for its appreciative works, but the tendency to furnish ambiguous responses to the territorial issue is ever subject to criticism, he asserted.

Given that NC has been making decisions that prioritise the country’s interests over its own during this critical time, he said the incumbent government should apply the same policy to safeguard the national esteem.
