Possibility of light to moderate rain accompanied by lightning in Bagmati, Gandaki and Madhesh provinces

KATHMANDU:- The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has stated that the country is currently under the influence of monsoon winds. The monsoon trough is currently positioned near its normal location over the eastern parts of Nepal, while it lies to the north of the normal position over the western parts.

Under its influence, the weather is generally cloudy in Koshi, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces, while there is partial cloud cover in the Terai regions of Madhesh, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces. Light to moderate rain is occurring in some places in Bagmati Province and in a few locations across Koshi, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Karnali provinces.

This afternoon, generally cloudy conditions are expected in the country’s mountainous and hilly regions, as well as in the Terai areas of Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Sudurpaschim provinces. Partial cloudiness is expected in Madhesh Province and the Terai regions of Koshi Province. There is a possibility of moderate rainfall in some places within the country’s mountainous regions.

There is a possibility of light to moderate rain accompanied by lightning in many places across the country’s hilly regions. Similarly, light to moderate rain with lightning is likely in some places within the Terai regions of Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Sudurpaschim provinces, as well as in a few places across the Terai of Koshi Province and in Madhesh Province.

Heavy rain is likely in one or two places within the hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces. Heavy rain is also possible in one or two places in the Terai region of Sudurpaschim Province.

Generally cloudy conditions will prevail across the country tonight. There is a possibility of light to moderate rain in a few places within the Himalayan region. Moderate rain accompanied by lightning is likely in some places across the hilly regions, and similarly in a few places across the Terai region. Heavy rain is possible in one or two places within the hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces.
