24 roads disrupted due to landslides opened after repair

KATHMANDU:- The Department of Roads has informed that three road sections have been completely blocked due to flood and landslides while six others have been partially disrupted.

The Department also said that 24 road section which were blocked due to rain-induced disasters such as flood and landslides have been opened after normal repair.

According to the Nepal Police, highways got affected due to landslides, river erosion, muds and sinking of road due to rains.

The vehicular movement in Dhulikhel-Sindhuli road section along the BP Highway has been restricted from 6 pm to 4 am in view of flood risk.

Similarly, vehicles are restricted from playing along the Kanti highway from 5 pm to 5 am due to rainfall and possible risks.

Mechi highway has also been blocked at Raj Duwali in Ilam Municipality-9 as the road has been entirely muddy. The police has arranged for alternative route.

Araniko highway has been blocked at Jeerokilo, Kodari and Liping area becase of muds, landslide and sinking of the road.

Lamo Sanghu-Ramechhpa road is also blocked due to road erosion by the Tamakoshi River at Kirnetar in Temakioshi Rural Municipality-5. Alternative route has been brought in operation here.

Nepal Police has urged all to take information about road condition as road conditions keep changing due to rainfall.
