Karnali Corridor blocked by landslide reopens in one way

KALIKOT:- The Karnali Corridor, which was blocked due to landslides, has been reopened in one direction since this morning. The road was blocked due to incessant rains on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Due to incessant rains, landslides and debris fell in places on the Kalikot road section under the Karnali Corridor from Khulalu in Narharinath Rural Municipality-8 to Laifu on the border of Bajura due to incessant rains. Due to two days of rain, landslides and debris fell in places on the Surkhet-Humla road section under the Karnali Corridor from Khulalu to Laifu and the road has been reopened after the landslides were removed, according to the District Administration Office, Kalikot.

Assistant Chief District Officer and Information Officer Janak Sharma said that there is still a risk of falling rocks from the upper slopes of the road, and the road is narrow and one-way in many places, so people are urged to take necessary precautions while traveling.
