MADRID:- Spain’s population grew by 105,488 in the third quarter of this year, reaching 49.44 million as of October 1, 2025, according to new data published by Spain’s National Statistics Agency, along with increasing immigration.
Spain’s population is continuing to grow, the country’s National Statistics Institute (INE) revealed in its latest census.
The total of 49,442,844 million is a new record and the highest number of residents in Spain since records began in 1971.
This population growth is not due to more children being born, as Spain has the lowest birth rate in Europe, at 1.12 children per woman.
In 2005, there were 43.2 million people in Spain. This is a 13.9% increase in 20 years, all due to incoming immigrants.
The main regions attracting immigrants are Andalusia (8.6 million), Catalonia (8.1 million), and Madrid (7.1 million). Migration trends in Spain are developing rapidly.
Last year, nearly 650,000 migrants arrived in Spain.
