SC to resume regular hearing, registration of habeas corpus petitions starting September 14

KATHMANDU:- The Supreme Court (SC) has decided to resume the regular hearing of the cases and registration of writ petition of habeas corpus from coming Sunday.   

An emergency meeting of the Full Court of the SC held on Thursday decided to resume the SC’s business from Sunday (September 14).

Issuing a press release after the meeting, Chief Justice Prakashman Sing Raut expressed the commitment to resume court’s proceedings as early as possible to address the concerns of the general public for justice.

The CJ has expressed his unwavering commitment to the citizens’ right to fundamental rights and right get justice by shouldering the responsibility given to the judiciary by the Constitution of Nepal even in such an adverse situation.

The Chief Justice stated that all the major documents of Nepal’s judicial history were almost destroyed in the fire and arson, and has termed it an unimaginable loss.
