SAN FRANCISCO:- The Nepali Congress California-Dang Liaison Committee has been formed under the chairmanship of Dilliraj Regmi.

A gathering held on Thursday, in the presence of Congress Dang President Shankar Prasad Dangi, formed the California-Dang Liaison Committee with Dilliraj Regmi as its chairperson.

A meeting chaired by Begam Bahadur Hamal (Suresh)—a native of Tulsipur, Dang—selected Sunil Adhikari as Vice-Chairperson, Rabin Bhandari as Secretary, Dev Bahadur Wali as Treasurer, and Dhurba Bishwakarma as Joint-Secretary.

Additionally, Giriraj Budhathoki, Durga Gharti, Shankar Khadka, Jit Bahadur Sunar, Kushal Rana, Santosh Giri, and Deepak KC were selected as committee members.

A 15-member executive committee has been formed, with provisions to add a co-treasurer and additional members in the future. Previously, a similar committee was also formed in New York in the presence of Dangi, the President of the Congress party in Dang, who is currently visiting the United States.

Addressing the gathering in California, Dangi stated that without democracy, individual freedom of speech and human rights would be violated.

He asserted that a robust democracy is an indispensable necessity today to safeguard the world from the vicious cycle of dictatorship and crime.

He also urged everyone—wherever they may be—to engage in virtuous deeds and dedicate themselves to the cause of democracy, thereby opening the doors to progress.
