Possibility of heavy rain in Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces on Friday

KATHMANDU:- The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has reported that the country is currently under the influence of monsoon winds. The monsoon trough is positioned slightly north of its normal location in the west and near its normal location in the east.

As a result, the weather is generally cloudy in the mountainous and hilly regions, while the Terai region is partly cloudy. Light to moderate rain is occurring in a few places across Koshi, Bagmati, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces, and in one or two locations in Madhesh Province.

Generally cloudy conditions will prevail across the country this afternoon. There is a possibility of light to moderate rain accompanied by lightning in some places within the country’s mountainous regions.

Moderate rain accompanied by lightning is likely in many places across the hilly regions. Similarly, there is a possibility of light to moderate rain accompanied by lightning in some locations within the Terai regions of Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Sudurpaschim provinces, as well as in a few places within the Terai regions of Madhesh and Koshi provinces.

There is a possibility of heavy rainfall in one or two places across the mountainous and hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces; the hilly regions of Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces; and the hilly and Terai regions of Lumbini Province.

Tonight, the weather across the country will be generally cloudy. There is a possibility of light to moderate rain accompanied by lightning in some places within the mountainous regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, and in a few places within the mountainous regions of Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces.

The department has stated that there is a possibility of heavy rain in one or two places across the mountainous and hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, as well as the hilly region of Lumbini Province.
