NAGOYA:- Senior sports journalist Navin Aryal’s book, ‘Nepal-Japan Sports Relations’, was launched today in Nagoya, Japan.

Journalist Aryal’s book was jointly launched by Harihar Kanta Paudel, Chargé d’Affaires of Nepal to Japan; Robin Prasad Gauchan, Senior Vice President of the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA); Binaya Bikram Shah, President of the Nepal Soft Tennis Association and Honorary President of the International Soft Tennis Association; former karate player Dev Ghimire; and ISKA World Champion Abiral Ghimire.

Speaking at the event, Acting Ambassador Paudel remarked that Aryal’s book would make it easier to understand the relationship between Nepal and Japan. “It was through this book that I learned we were connected via sports even five years before the establishment of diplomatic relations with Japan,” he said. He expressed his belief that the book would prove to be a milestone in Nepal-Japan relations.

Speaking at the event, NRNA Senior Vice President Sherchan noted that the book provided an opportunity to understand the sporting ties between Nepal and Japan. He remarked that journalist Aryal’s book serves as an excellent document not only for Nepal but also for Japan.

“The book helps Nepalis living in Japan learn about the sporting relationship between the two nations,” he said. “It seeks to highlight the friendship between the two countries through the medium of sports.”

Sporting relations between Nepal and Japan were established 75 years ago, a fact the author, Aryal, has incorporated into his book.

At the event, Bheshnath Gautam (Vice President of Galkot Samaj Japan), businessman Dilaram Kharel, intellectual and former Deputy Coordinator of NRNA Japan’s Nagoya Regional Committee Navaraj Chapagain, Deputy Coordinator of NRNA Japan’s Nagoya Regional Committee Yam Bahadur Paija Magar, and journalists Kabikiran Neupane, Nissan Rana, and Kanta Giri shared their views on the book.
