Heavy Rain Forecast for Lumbini and Sudurpaschim Provinces Today

KATHMANDU:- The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has forecast heavy rainfall at one or two places in the hilly and Tarai areas of Lumbini and Sudurpaschim Provinces today, urging the public to remain alert.

According to the Department, light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning is likely at many places in the Tarai of Lumbini and Sudurpaschim Provinces, while a few locations in the Tarai of Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati and Gandaki Provinces may also experience similar weather.

The weather is expected to remain generally cloudy across the country’s mountainous and hilly regions. Cloudy conditions are also likely in the Tarai of Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini and Sudurpaschim Provinces, while the Tarai of Koshi and Madhesh Provinces will see partly cloudy skies.

Tonight, generally cloudy conditions are forecast nationwide. The Department has predicted light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning at some places in the mountainous and hilly regions, along with the possibility of snowfall at higher elevations.

Moderate to heavy rainfall is also likely at some places in the Tarai of Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini and Sudurpaschim Provinces, and at a few places in the Tarai of Madhesh and Koshi Provinces.

The Department has further warned of heavy rainfall at one or two places in the hilly regions of Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpaschim Provinces, as well as in the Tarai of Lumbini and Sudurpaschim, and has advised residents in vulnerable areas to take necessary precautions.
