Dr. Govinda KC was taken to Kathmandu by helicopter

ILAM:- Dr. Govinda KC, who is on his 25th Satyagraha, (hunger strike) demanding reforms in medical education and the health sector, has been brought to Kathmandu via a Nepal Army helicopter for further medical treatment.

Dr. KC, who had begun his *satyagraha* on the premises of the Narayansthan Temple in Ilam, was admitted to Ilam Hospital after experiencing health complications. As his condition worsened while undergoing treatment there, he was transported to Kathmandu for further care.

A team of doctors and health workers, led by Dr. Amitabh Thakur—the head of Ilam Hospital—held a press conference on Sunday to provide an update on Dr. KC’s health condition.

The team reported that his health condition was becoming increasingly complex, with irregularities in his heartbeat and a declining blood glucose level. As his condition deteriorated, Ilam Hospital wrote to the District Administration Office, requesting that arrangements be made for an immediate rescue by helicopter.

Dr. KC has been transported to the TU Teaching Hospital in Kathmandu via a Nepal Army helicopter. He will undergo further treatment there.

Although the medical team at Ilam Hospital had been providing continuous health monitoring and treatment, he was sent to Kathmandu after it was determined that further medical care was required.
