7-point agreement reached between Government and Dr. KC; hunger strike called off on fifth day
Both sides have signed an agreement following two days of negotiations—held on Sunday and Monday—regarding the demands put forward by Dr. KC, who is on a hunger strike.
DHANGADHI:- An agreement has been reached between the government negotiating team and the side of Dr. Govinda KC, who had been on a hunger strike demanding reforms in the medical education and health sectors.
The seven-point agreement was concluded following two days of talks held in Dhangadhi.

Representing the government in the talks were the Prime Minister’s Health Advisor Prof. Dr. Jagadish Prasad Agrawal, Secretary of the Ministry of Education, Science and Sports Chudamani Paudel, and Secretary of the Ministry of Health and Population Dr. Bikash Devkota. Dr. Amrit Jaishi and Dr. Pawan Thapa participated on behalf of Dr. KC. Additionally, Rashtriya Swatantra Party leader and MP Pukar Bam also took part in the negotiations.
Dr. KC had begun a hunger strike on Shrawan 7 at the Shri Krishna Mandir Dharmashala in Dhangadhi. He was admitted to the ICU at Seti Provincial Hospital after his health deteriorated.
Dr. KC ended his hunger strike on the fifth day following a seven-point agreement with the government team.
