Talks with family of deceased Mehata turns positive; Agrees for post-mortem test

KATHMANDU:- Talks between the government and deceased Rabindra Mehata’s family has ended positively.

In a discussion held on Tuesday at TU Teaching Hospital Maharajgunj in the presence of Home Minister Sudhan Gurung, the government expressed full commitment to addressing the demands raised by the family of late Rabindra, according to the Home Minister’s Secretariat.

The Home Minister expressed sorrow over the demise of Mehata and extended condolences to the deceased’s relatives, while assuring the government’s readiness to provide necessary support and relief.

The relatives participating in the talks stated that they will have further discussions tomorrow after consulting the deceased’s parents. They have also agreed to hand over Mehata’s body to the TU Teaching Hospital for post-mortem examination.

The Home Minister’s Secretariat stated that the talks between the government and the family have progressed positively and that further discussions will be held tomorrow to finalise the agreement.

Rabin Mehata, 22, who was injured in the incident that occurred at Devanganj Rural Municipality-3, Kaptanganj, Sunsari, last July 25, passed away today while being treated at the Hospital.
