Narayani Hospital demands action against assault on medical officer

PARSA:- Narayani Hospital administration has demanded that action against the assault on medical officer Dr Pramod Ram on Saturday be taken by reviewing the available CCTV footage.

In a press release issued on Monday, the hospital urged the authorities to identify those responsible for the attack based on CCTV footage and bring them to justice. It is said that CCTV footage of that day has already been provided to the authorities concerned.

Raj Kumar Patel, 45, of Birgunj Metropolis-25, died on Saturday while undergoing treatment at the hospital. Accusing the doctors of negligence in his treatment, his relatives attacked the medical officer and vandalised the hospital property.

Medical officer Dr Ram, who was severely injured in the attack, was taken to Kathmandu. He has been admitted to the National Trauma Centre.

Meanwhile, health professionals at Narayani Hospital staged a protest demonstration at the local Ghantaghar on Monday, demanding action against those responsible for the assault on the medical officer.
