‘Actress Deepa Shree has no health complications’

KATHMANDU:- The Annapurna Neurological Institute and Allied Sciences has announced that actress and film director Deepa Shree Niroula has successfully undergone surgery to remove a brain tumour.

In a press statement issued on Monday, the hospital confirmed that the operation was successful.

According to the statement, the surgery was performed on July 7 by a medical team led by neurosurgeon Dr. Basant Pant.

The team also included Dr. Sudan Dhakal, Dr. Nabin Panthi, Dr. Shambhu Bahadur Karki from the Department of Anaesthesiology, and members of the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

The hospital said the tumour was completely removed during the operation. It added that Niroula has not developed any new health complications following the surgery and that her condition is stable.

According to the statement, she will remain in hospital for the next few days under the close supervision of specialist doctors while receiving further treatment.

The hospital also said that details regarding the type of tumour and any further treatment required would be shared with her family once the pathology report becomes available.

Expressing its gratitude to Niroula and her family for placing their trust in Nepali doctors and choosing to undergo treatment in Nepal, the hospital wished her a speedy and complete recovery.

Following news of her successful surgery, many figures from the Nepali film industry have wished Niraula a swift recovery.

Niroula began her film career in the 1990s, but her breakthrough came with the hugely popular television sitcom Tito Satya along with popular comedian Deepak Raj Giri.

She later moved into filmmaking and established herself as one of Nepal’s most successful female directors.

Her work on the Chhakka Panja film franchise broke several box-office records and helped make the series one of the highest-grossing franchises in the history of Nepali cinema.
