Sanchita Shahi leaves her mark in modelling

TANAHUN:- Sanchita Shahi, who has quickly risen in the Nepali modelling industry, has succeeded in gaining popularity.

Her unwavering dedication to promoting Nepali art and culture has earned her a distinct identity.

“The early days were not easy; there were many challenges, but hard work and self-confidence brought me here,” she said.

Fond of dance and acting since childhood, Sanchita entered the world of modelling through both family inspiration and her own passion.

“The early days were not easy; I had to struggle a lot, but I believed that one day hard work would give me recognition.”

With her love for art and the support of her family, Shahi chose the journey of entertainment. Born in Dailekh to father Prem Bahadur Shahi and mother Lalkumari Shahi, she came to Kathmandu to fulfil her dreams.

Since childhood, she had shown a keen interest in dance and acting. In 2017, she appeared for the first time in a music video for the song ‘Andhopan.’

So far, she has acted, modelled, and danced in more than 200 music videos. Songs like Kaliyug, Mayale Phasayo, Arko Sunaideu, Antim Bhet, Cheli, Machi Laumai, and Na Aau Mero Sapnima brought her nationwide fame.

Shahi’s entry into the entertainment field began in 2017, and that journey soon established her as a popular artist.

The beginning was not easy; opportunities were limited, payment was low, but her struggle and confidence brought her today’s success.

Her contribution has earned her several honours over time.

With her continuous engagement in modelling, she won various awards, including the Best Female Model (Lok Dohori) title for the song Malam Patti Le at the National Power News Music Award 2019. At the OS Nepal Music Award 2018, she received the Best Modern Debut Female Model award for Mutuko Dhadkan. She was also honoured with the Best Female Model title for Bhayo Pardesi at the Star International Award 2021, and more.

Looking ahead, her goal is to take her art and skills to the international stage, promoting Nepali music, dance, and culture worldwide. Expressing her gratitude for her journey, Shahi said, “My goal is not only to perform, but also to present Nepal’s rich culture on international platforms.”
