UML-affiliated Overseas Nepali Forum Convention begins in Barcelona

By Dinesh Giri, BARCELONA:- The first convention of the Non-Resident Nepali Forum Europe has commenced in Barcelona, Spain, under the slogan “Honoring Non-Resident Nepalis – A Campaign for a Prosperous Nepal.”

The convention was inaugurated in the presence of CPN-UML Central Secretary and former Minister Bhanu Bhakta Dhakal as the chief guest. Special guests at the event included CPN-UML Central Member and Europe In-charge Sanjay Thapa, Central Member and former Chief Whip Mahesh Bartaula, and Central Member RC Lamichhane.

170 delegates from 16 European countries are participating in the convention. The inaugural ceremony was chaired by Europe Coordinator Mukta Bahadur Gurung and conducted by Secretary Shalik Thapaliya.

During the inaugural session, various individuals associated with the dais and the NRNA delivered remarks conveying their best wishes. Secretary Shalik Thapaliya informed that a new executive committee would be elected during the closed session scheduled for today.
