New rule for Nepali migrant workers in Dubai: Offer letter and employment contract mandatory

UAE:- New regulations have been introduced for Nepali migrant workers employed in free zones and semi-government companies across Dubai and the Northern Emirates of the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The Consulate General of Nepal has implemented this new system to further streamline the visa verification process.

According to the latest notice issued by the Consulate General, Nepali migrant workers whose recruitment demands have been verified and who are currently in the hiring process are mandatorily required to have their institutional visas verified for labor approval before traveling to the UAE.

For free zone and semi-government companies, an offer letter or employment contract has been made mandatory. Under the new arrangement, the concerned companies must submit two copies of the visa verification letter along with a duly filled application form when applying. The embassy has also stated that a copy of the visa bearing the company’s seal and authorized signature, the pre-approval letter from the Department of Foreign Employment, and a copy of the approved demand letter must be submitted.

The offer letter or employment contract submitted by the company must clearly specify the worker’s basic salary and other terms in accordance with the approved demand letter. Additionally, the visa balance record issued by the manpower agency and the identity card or letter of authorization of the company’s authorized representative will also be required.

To enhance transparency in the process, the embassy has stipulated that all submitted documents must be self-certified by an authorized representative of the concerned company.

The Consulate General of Nepal in Dubai has urged all relevant companies and manpower agencies to comply with the new guidelines.
