HoR Committee to Hold Hearing on Proposed Election Commissioners Today

KATHMANDU:- The Parliamentary Hearing Committee is set to meet today to conduct hearings on the proposed appointments of Guru Prasad Wagle of Okhaldhunga and Dr. Rajiv Subba of Kathmandu as Election Commissioners.

The Constitutional Council had, on July 3, recommended Man Bahadur Karki for the post of Chief Election Commissioner, along with Wagle and Subba as Election Commissioners.

In line with constitutional provisions, the President will appoint the recommended candidates after the Parliamentary Hearing Committee completes the hearing process. The committee had earlier invited complaints or objections, if any, regarding the proposed nominees.
