Possibility of moderate rain accompanied by lightning in many places across the Himalayan and hilly regions

KATHMANDU:- The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has stated that the country is currently under the influence of monsoon winds. The monsoon trough is currently positioned near its normal location over the eastern parts of Nepal, while it lies to the north of the normal position over the western parts.

Due to its influence, the weather across the country is generally cloudy. Light to moderate rain is occurring in a few places within Bagmati, Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces, as well as in one or two locations in Lumbini and Madhesh provinces.

This afternoon, generally cloudy conditions are expected in the mountainous and hilly regions of the country, as well as in the Terai regions of Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Sudurpaschim provinces. The weather will be partly cloudy in Madhesh Province and the Terai region of Koshi Province.

There is a possibility of light to moderate rain accompanied by lightning in some places of the country’s mountainous regions and many places of the hilly regions. Similarly, light to moderate rain with lightning is likely in many places across the Terai regions of Lumbini and Sudurpaschim provinces, some places in the Terai regions of Bagmati and Gandaki provinces, and a few places in the Terai region of Koshi Province and in Madhesh Province.

Heavy rain is likely in one or two places across the hilly and Terai regions of Lumbini and Sudurpaschim provinces, as well as the hilly regions of Bagmati, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces.

Tonight, the sky will be generally cloudy over the country’s mountainous and hilly regions, as well as the Terai areas of Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces. The Terai regions of Lumbini and Sudurpaschim provinces will experience partly cloudy skies. There is a possibility of light to moderate rain accompanied by lightning in a few places within the mountainous regions and in some areas of the hilly regions.
