Four Nepalis arrested for assault at Texas restaurant 

TEXAS:- Four men have been charged with severely assaulting another man during a fight inside a restaurant in Irving, Texas.

Police investigators stated that the victim sustained a serious head injury as a result of the assault.

According to the Irving Police Department, officers responded to the scene after receiving reports of a large brawl involving 15 to 20 people at the ‘Peak Restaurant and Bar,’ located in the 3400 block of West Airport Freeway, shortly after midnight on Thursday. The caller reported that a large group of people inside the restaurant were fighting and striking each other with beer bottles.

Upon arriving at the scene and reviewing CCTV footage, police observed four men collectively assaulting another man. Investigators identified the suspects and subsequently located all four of them, along with the victim, at a hospital on MacArthur Boulevard. According to the police, the identities of everyone involved in the incident have been confirmed through the CCTV footage.

Investigators stated that video footage shows 31-year-old Suraj Basnet repeatedly punching and kicking the victim in the head. It is also alleged that others used punches, kicks, chairs, and glass bottles to attack the victim.

The victim sustained a severe head injury, a split lip, and an injury to the neck from the attack; there is also a suspicion of serious internal head trauma. Police stated that the medical report regarding the head injury is still awaited.

A case has been registered against Suraj Basnet (31), Dhiraj Basnet (29), Amit Khatri (22), and Shoib Khadka (22)—who were involved in the incident—for the offense of causing grievous bodily harm.

In addition to the assault charge, further cases have been registered against Amit Khatri for the use of a stolen credit card and for fraud. According to the police, further investigation into the incident is underway.
