Two Nepalis killed after being hit by a train in Romania
BUCHAREST:- Two Nepali nationals lost their lives in a train accident in the city of Bacău, eastern Romania. They died after being struck by a moving train on the Chimi railway section at approximately 3:21 AM local time on Sunday.
According to the Bacău Emergency Situations Inspectorate (ISU), a team comprising fire trucks, ambulances, and a mobile intensive care unit was dispatched to the scene immediately after the accident was reported. However, by the time the rescue team arrived, both individuals had already died at the scene.
In a statement, ISU Bakau said, “Upon receiving information that two individuals had been struck by a train, our team arrived at the scene. Unfortunately, the medical team declared both of them dead.”
Preliminary investigations indicate that the deceased were Nepali citizens. However, their detailed identities and addresses in Nepal have not yet been disclosed.
Local police and railway officials have launched an investigation into how the Nepalis ended up on the railway tracks and how the accident occurred.
