Second batch of China’s relief supplies arrives including drones, DNA experts and testing tools
KATHMANDU:- The second batch of Chinese emergency relief supplies to Nepal’s flood hit area arrived today.
Five Chinese DNA experts also came on board the Y-20 large transport aircraft of the PLA Air Force of China that landed at TIA at around 5:30 pm.
The expert is the third batch of the Chinese aid experts to Nepal since the flash flood hit on August 26.
Zhang Maoming, Chinese Ambassador to Nepal, and Mahabir Pun, Minister for Science, Technology and Innovation, attended the handover ceremony for the relief supplies, and welcomed the Chinese experts, the Chinese embassy said.
The relief supplies are provided based on Nepal’s actual needs， including items in urgent demand, such as drones, DNA testing instruments and reagents, water purification equipment, and lighting devices. Upon arrival, the Chinese DNA identification experts will immediately head to the front line of the disaster areas to assist the Nepalese side in their work, read the statement.
Earlier yesterday, MoFA spokesperson Lok Bahadur Paudel Chhetri had said that Nepal had requested high-capacity drones, DNA testing instruments from China and other countries for search and rescue operations in the Bhotekoshi flash flood hit area.
