NRNA leadership holds discussion with Foreign Minister Sharma

KATHMANDU:- Minister for Foreign Affairs, Balananda Sharma, has urged the Non-Resident Nepalis (NRN) community to contribute to the country’s socio-economic development.   

During his meeting with a newly elected delegation from the NRNA at his office on Friday, he assured of the Ministry’s continued support for the NRNA’s positive initiatives. Sharma urged the delegation to work closely with the new parliamentary team to advance their agenda.

The Foreign Minister congratulated the delegation on their election to the NRNA leadership and expressed his happiness over the successful conduct of the 12th International General Assembly and Global Conference of the NRNA. He also praised the unity established and maintained lately within the organization.

On the occasion, Foreign Secretary Amrit Bahadur Rai wished the new executive committee a very successful term. Describing NRNA as a reliable government partner, he vowed continued cooperation with the NRNA. Rai shared his happiness over the growing Nepali diaspora across the world.

Newly elected President Hemraj Sharma expressed his hope that the citizenship issues of NRNs would be sorted out soon. He promised to advocate and deliver for the interests of the Nepali diaspora and strengthen cooperation between the NRNA and the government. He also appreciated the government’s role in fostering unity within the NRNA.(RSS)
