Nepal defeats India in triangular football tournament

KATHMANDU:- The Nepali women’s football team has defeated the home team, India, in the triangular football tournament.

In the match held at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Shillong, Nepal defeated India 2–1, with both goals scored by team captain Sabitra Bhandari (Samba). Sabitra scored a goal in the second minute of the game, giving Nepal the early lead. Bimala BK provided a long pass from her own half, which Sabitra utilised well and scored.

In the 63rd minute of the match, Sabitra scored Nepal’s second goal. Later, in the 81st minute, Karishma Shirvoikar scored a goal for India. No more goals were scored afterwards, and Nepal ultimately emerged victorious.

With this victory, Nepal became the runner-up in the triangular tournament. Nepal had lost their first match to Iran 3–0. India, who were defeated 2–0 by Iran in their first game, could not add any points.
