Moderate rainfall with lightning likely in the mountainous and hilly areas of Koshi and Bagmati provinces
KATHMANDU:- The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology (Weather Forecasting Division) has stated that the country is currently under the partial influence of westerly and local winds.
As a result, there is partial cloud cover over the Himalayan and hilly regions of the country, while the weather in the Terai regions remains mainly clear.
This afternoon, the Himalayan and hilly regions are expected to be generally cloudy. Partial cloud cover is anticipated over the Terai regions of Lumbini and Sudurpaschim provinces, while the weather in the remaining Terai areas will remain mainly clear.
There is a possibility of light to moderate rain and snowfall, accompanied by thunder and lightning, in a few places across the Himalayan and hilly regions of Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces, as well as in one or two places within the Himalayan and hilly regions of Koshi and Bagmati provinces. Additionally, there is a possibility of light to moderate rain in one or two places across the Terai regions of Lumbini and Sudurpaschim provinces.
Tonight, the Himalayan region of the country will be generally cloudy, while the hilly region will experience partial cloudiness. The weather in the Terai region will remain mainly clear. The Department has stated that there is a possibility of light rain and snowfall in one or two places within the country’s Himalayan region.
