Janaastha Weekly Editor Kishore Shrestha Arrested

KATHMANDU:- The government has arrested Kishor Shrestha, the editor of Jana-Astha weekly, for publishing a news report.

Police arrested Shrestha from his residence in Kusunti on Wednesday evening.

Sources claim that Shrestha was arrested under the direct orders of the Balen administration, which was angered by the publication of a factual report regarding Home Minister Sudhan Gurung’s ties to middlemen and financial dealings.

Shrestha, who had previously published reports regarding the cooperative fraud and passport misuse involving Rastriya Swatantra Party Chairman Rabi Lamichhane, had been publishing news about the various activities of the government and ruling party lawmakers through Jana-Aastha.
