Pro-monarchy leader Dhaval Shumsher Rana’s group announces to register separate party
KATHMANDU:- The faction led by Dr. Dhaval Shamsher Rana, which has split from RPP, has announced plans to register its party with the Election Commission on the 29th of this month.
Rana made this announcement through a public appeal on social media. However, Durga Prasai—a supreme leader of the group—does not currently agree with the move to register the party.
Durga Prasai had posted on social media stating that the party would not be registered at the moment due to insufficient preparations. However, Rana—provoked by an interview Prasai gave yesterday—has called for the party to be registered independently.
In a call issued under his sole signature, he states: “I earnestly call upon and request all leaders, party members, and well-wishers—both those already associated with the newly proposed ‘Jaya Nepal Party’ and those wishing to join—to attend at the specified date and location, and to add enthusiasm and zeal to the auspicious task of registering the party.”
Meanwhile, Madhav Kalpit, a key leader of the Prasai faction, has issued a statement asserting that the unity will not be disrupted. The statement notes that there is no misunderstanding or bitterness between President Rana and Supreme Leader Prasai.
He stated, “Continuous discussions and necessary preparatory work are currently underway between the Supreme Leader and the Party President regarding the ideological, organizational, and institutional framework for the proposed political party. The entire process, including the party’s registration, will take place in the joint presence of both leaders once the necessary preparations are complete.”
